Once again we’ll have an assortment spindles at the annual
Aurora Colony Handspinners’ Fiber Fair & Spin-In
At the Clackamas Community College, in Oregon City
Saturday, April 8th 10 am – 4 pm.
This is a local spin-in just around the corner from us that is always enjoyable for us. The smaller venue with its focus on spinning is more laid-back and usually slower paced for us than the big regional/national shows.
Wanda will be participating in the demo area this year:
Demonstrations
11:00 AM Peacock Shawl Chris Riley
1:00 PM Turkish Spindle Wanda Jenkins
3:00 PM Kim Biegler talks about the new wool processing mill Ewethful Fiber Farm and Mill in Halsey, Oregon
I’m looking forward to checking out the rovings from the new Ewethful Fiber Farm and Mill that just opened this past weekend. We wish them the best in their new endeavor to provide another place for shepherds to process wool.
Ed’s been steadily making spindles for our wholesalers listed on the Store page as well as spindles that have been set aside for upcoming shows. With Black Sheep Gathering coming over the horizon he will need to concentrate on building stock.
Check out the new look at the Black Sheep Gathering’s website. While you’re there have a look at the array of fabulous Workshops; Wanda will be teaching spinning plant fibers with a Turkish spindle on Sunday Morning. Registration for workshops opens this coming Saturday, April 1st at 9 am (Pacific Daylight Time).

April is a very busy month around here but Wanda will be joining the fun and challenge to spin 50 grams in memory of her mother who was born in April. She appreciated wearing crisp linens so I plan to spin flax with my Egret.
