Finches are posted on their page for the next Lottery Drawings using an online Random Number Generator.
Among the ten available Finches is one made from Snakewood, pictured here.
Snakewood comes from trees that grow deep in the jungles of Suriname, a country in NE South America.
In the interest of practicing responsible ecology the government of Suriname limits the harvesting of these trees to three months of the year. To maintain the integrity of this area of the jungle there are no modern roads. All the wood is harvested by hand and packed out on people’s backs through a jungle teeming with wildlife including poisonous snakes. With the regulations and all the intense physical labor that goes into making Snakewood available it’s no wonder that it’s considered one of the most expensive woods in the world.
Eight Larks will be posted later today.
If you’d like to buy a Lark resist entering the drawing for a Finch and vice versa.
